John Lomax has studied with many well known artists and teachers and is a signature
member of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina. Many of his paintings are scenes from
his travels both here and abroad.

He especially likes to paint boats, landscapes, and has found that people's faces and
everyday scenes provide interesting subjects. The strong contrast of values, light and shadow
are evident in many of his paintings. Lomax also paints with acrylics and teaches watercolor
classes and workshops.
